SHELTER DOG GIVES BIRTH TO EXTREMELY SMALL PUPPY
A pregnant dog was rescued from a high kill shelter by The Grace Foundation of Northern California, which is a non-profit dedicated to helping animals. Upon giving birth, one of the puppies (named Beyonce Knowles or “Little Beyonce”) turned out to be very tiny. Here’s the story from Amy Kurokawa at news10.net out of Eldorado Hills:
A palm-size puppy is alive and getting stronger by the day, thanks to the efforts of the Grace Foundation in El Dorado Hills.
“She’s the smallest dog I’ve ever seen in my life,” said Beth De Caprio of the Grace Foundation.
Beyonce Knowles, as the foundation named her, had to be resuscitated upon birth. “She wasn’t breathing when she came out,” said De Caprio. “Our vet did a little compression on her chest and she came around.”

Altough small in stature, Beyonce is relatively healthy, according to De Caprio. She is even strong enough to muscle her way in amongst her brothers and sisters at the chow line to nurse when not being bottle fed by foundation members.
According to De Caprio, the Grace Foundation will continue to care for the entire family who will all eventually be available for adoption.
Despite her premature birth, it sounds like Little Beyonce has a lot of spunk. Hopefully, she grows into a strong dog and is adopted by a great family. Click here for the full story and more photos. I wonder what’s the longest time someone has sat at the computer watching this. I’m still here.

My friend Anna sent this picture of Tess at Proud Mary’s in Collingwood. “I don’t need dental work. I like my chompers like this.”
(One excellent thing about Anna is that she’ll see a dog, take a photo, and even write the caption.)
